dreamfool asked:
Some a**hole hit my car and damaged my driver’s side mirror and took off. The plastic part where it attaches to the car body has broken, but the mirror is not. I’d like to use glue to glue it together as I have no money to fix it but not sure what to use. I’ve used Epoxy glue but it failed. What kind of plastic was used in that part of the car? What glue will do the trick?
Make is Toyota and it’s a 01 Prius.
Thanks!

JB weld, it works on everything. don’t get it on the paint.
Gorilla Glue or JB Weld would probably work for a while but nothing will last very long due to vibrations and weather. It will eventually fail. The problem with any type of glue is that it needs time to set and may need to be clamped. You may get by with gluing it up and keeping it in place with duct tape until the glue sets. I’d do it in the evening and let it set up over night.
go get one out of the junkyard, there not that expensive.
